Whats good for cleaning stainless steel?
I am cleaning some stainless QTP headers up, and I used gray scotchbrite and some "Nevr-dull" the never dull didn't do much, but scotch brite worked pretty good, anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: Whats good for cleaning stainless steel?
I have used VERY fine steel wool, then repolishing with good results.

Re: Whats good for cleaning stainless steel?
I've used a polish called Busch super shine. It says its mainly for aluminum, but on the bottle it can also be used on steel. I used it on my 2OTL catback and does a pretty good job. Hell, you can even use it on oxidized paint. Doesn't do too bad of a job ;)

this is what we use at work and it's badass! I just did it by hand and it turned out great, so I can't imagine what it could do on a buffing wheel http://www.arcalchem.com/Pages/Com302.html

Re: Whats good for cleaning stainless steel?
I had good results with 00 steel wool and rubbing or polishing compound. My 2OTL was pretty crusty so I hit it with some wet sanding first.

I know its stainless but they are kinda cruddy looking now, which I know stainless will rainbow and such, plus with oil getting on them etc, they will change some anyway.

Re: Whats good for cleaning stainless steel?
Acid will eat the color and everything away. Just polish them when your finished and they will look new.

Only problem now is that I have the headers on the car, wonder if I would be able to use wheel acid in the engine bay if I'm careful where I spray... I mainly just want them to look nice from above since that's all you see when they are in the car, then when I take them back out I'll clean them the rest of the way down.
